英文标题 A Psychophysical Approach to Evaluation of Forest Scenic Beauty

英文摘要 Visual resources evaluation and management of forest landscape have been promoted by attaching importance to the natural aesthetic value of forest land during the past two decades in western developed countries. Of the four paradligms or five models of landscape assessment. expert and psychophysical methods have been applied extensively in forest landscape resarch and practical management. This paper mainly discusses the psychophysical method which, seeking to discover functional relationship between psychological responses and physical stimuli, has shown the potentials both as research tools and practice guides. Some research progress relating to the influences of forest physical features on scenic beauty are presented, and the main weaknesses of this approach are analyzed. Finally, the author points out that further research should place emphasis on establishing a solid and convincing theoretical base for the identification and description of physical features.
